Allergy Alert Classrooms

COVID ALERT: While Covid protocols are in place, families should not be sending food or other items to school with their child to share.

On occasions, such as student birthdays, baked goods often arrive to school on the day of the event (e.g., cupcakes for a birthday). While we all love surprises, this type of surprise poses a problem when considering safety and the enjoyment of all students with life-threatening allergies/anaphylaxis.

DUE TO STUDENTS AND STAFF WITH LIFE-THREATENING ALLERGIES/ANAPHYLAXIS, WE ARE A NUT-/PEANUT-SAFE SCHOOL.

Should parents plan on sending treats for special days like birthdays, kindly provide the teachers with two or three days advanced notice, as well as a list of ingredients that are in the finished product. There may be students or staff with other food allergies we need to be mindful of.

Alternate items to baked goods could be fruit or veggie plates, or favours such as stickers, fancy pencils, etc. Thanks so much for your cooperation.
