Principal's Message

Welcome to Stittsville Public School's website! Stittsville PS offers Bilingual Kindergarten and grades 1 to 6 Early French Immersion and English with Core French programs. We have over 50 staff, composed of teachers, educational assistants, early childhood educators, office staff, a library technician, and both day and evening custodial staff. There are 670 students enrolled for the 2020-2021 school year, with 467 students attending in-person and the others remotely. We have a full time Principal and a three-quarter Vice Principal position.

Although COVID 19 restricts building access to staff and students, parent volunteers are normally welcome in the school and engage in a variety of roles. The learning environment is also enhanced by the support provided by the School Council that coordinates a number of fundraising efforts to purchase resources designed to enrich classrooms and student learning in the areas of the arts, math, science and technology.

In a non-pandemic year, staff volunteer time to offer various sports, arts, clubs and academic programs during recesses to enrich the lives of students.

We invite you to share your questions, suggestions, concerns or compliments as they come up throughout the year. Open lines of communication are important in making Stittsville Public School a great place for students to come to for learning and fun each day. If you are ever wondering about something that is going on in the school, a decision that was made, or information you have heard from your child, or if you just want to touch base - give us a call, drop by or send an e-mail and we will be happy to connect.
